Authorisation of accrediting bodies of CPD
Continuing professional development for pharmacists is an important part of maintaining the skills and responsiveness of the profession and ensuring the continuing quality and safety of pharmacy services for the Australian community.  The Australian Pharmacy Council acts to protect the interests of the Australian community and in this context wishes to be able to assure the community and the profession that continuing professional development is of high quality.

Accreditation of Providers of CPD
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) delivered by an accredited provider will be recognised by Registering Authorities as contributing to continuing competency when applying for renewal of registration.

Authorisation of Accreditors of CPD programs
The APC authorises appropriately qualified organisations to accredit providers of CPD on its behalf.

Consultation with the Pharmacy Council
New applicants are invited to discuss their proposed application with the APC before submitting an application.
