The Accreditation Committee
| The Accreditation Committee is a standing committee of the APC. The Accreditation Committee: |
- i. develops Accreditation Standards for Australian and New Zealand university programs on behalf of the pharmacy profession and submits new Standards and amendments to the Pharmacy Board of Australia for approval.
- ii. develops Accreditation Standards for Australian and New Zealand intern training programs (ITPs) on behalf of the pharmacy profession and submits new Standards and amendments to the Pharmacy Board of Australia for approval.
- iii. develops criteria for the accreditation of suitable organisations to accredit providers of continuing professional development (CPD) activities on behalf of APC.
- iv. assesses pharmacy university programs, ITPs and accreditors of CPD activities against the Accreditation Standards and Criteria respectively and makes recommendations to APC to accredit where indicated.
- v. evaluates pharmacy schools in Australia and New Zealand, including inspection by site evaluation teams appointed by the Accreditation Committee; considers reports from its evaluators; and makes recommendations to the APC.
- vi. evaluates Australian and New Zealand ITPs and the accreditation of CPD accrediting organisations; considers audit reports and makes recommendations to the APC.
- vii. seeks PCNZ input when making recommendations to Council regarding New Zealand pharmacy schools and ITPs
- viii. undertakes any other tasks referred to it by the Council.
