The Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) will be re-scheduling its upcoming Intern Written Exam set for June and July. This is due to COVID 19 impacting on its main exam provider, Pearson VUE.
APC CEO, Bronwyn Clark said that Pearson VUE has had to close all its exam centres across Australia due to this unprecedented pandemic that has imposed physical distancing measures.
“APC will re-schedule the exams for October this year and change the mode of delivery to online to enable this exam to proceed remotely and within the constraints of physical distancing to ensure everyone’s safety. The Pharmacy Board have agreed to allow interns to sit both exams in the same month.
“During this public health crisis, we understand that these changes are disruptive and disappointing, however we are here to support and guide candidates through to registration with minimal interruptions. APC has been delivering computer-based exams for 10-years, so we are highly adept and agile for these types of situations,” Ms Clark said.
“During COVID 19, the health and safety of everybody is APC’s priority as it is Pearson VUE’s, and the rest of the nation.
“We encourage candidates not to worry about studying for their exam at this time, and to concentrate on their workplace learning and their own health and wellbeing. If they have any concerns, they can contact our team who are ready to take their calls,” Ms Clark said.
