The Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) and the Commonwealth Pharmacists Association (CPA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) World Congress.

This marks an important milestone in their shared commitment to strengthening pharmacy education, assessment, and workforce capability.

The partnership brings together the expertise of both organisations to support the development of pharmacists and pharmacy education, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), through collaboration, knowledge sharing and educational capacity-building initiatives.

Under the agreement, APC and CPA will work together to share education standards, guidance and resources, as well as exchange expertise on approaches to education and assessment.

Chief Executive Officer, Bronwyn Clark said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to building a capable and sustainable pharmacy workforce worldwide.

"This agreement provides an opportunity to combine our expertise and learn from one another while supporting pharmacists, educators and healthcare systems across the Commonwealth,"

"By drawing on this international partnership, we can expand access to support that responds to local needs and contributes to improved health outcomes."
