International graduates of Australian & New Zealand pharmacy programs

This section of the website summarises the skills assessment process for international graduates of approved Australian and New Zealand programs seeking registration in Australia.

If you are graduate of an approved Australian or New Zealand program who wants to register and work as a pharmacist in Australia, you must complete:

  • A skills assessment process
  • A registration process

We manage the skills assessment process for international graduates of Australian and New Zealand programs. To find out what the assessment process will be like for you, visit our page on the process to become a registered Australian pharmacist. Upon successful completion of the assessment process, you will be issued with a skills assessment letter.

The Pharmacy Board of Australia manages the registration process for retail and hospital pharmacists in Australia. Please direct any registration enquiries you have directly to the PBA.

The list of approved Australian pharmacy programs can be found at the Pharmacy Board of Australia’s (PBA) website.

The list of approved New Zealand pharmacy programs can be found at the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand’s (PCNZ) website.
