Updated Skills Assessment

What is an updated skills assessment:

An updated skills assessment is a letter we can provide for applicants where additional work experience or qualifications can be acknowledged.

Please contact the Department of Immigration and Border Protection if you have any questions about the uses of an updated skills assessment letter.

Eligibility:

We can issue updated skills assessment letters to applicants who:

a) Already have been issued an APC skills assessment letter and,
b) Have gained additional work experience as a generally registered pharmacist and/or
c) Have gained an additional tertiary pharmacy degree or qualification

If you want your work experience included in an updated skills assessment letter:

Please note; the APC will only calculate work experience you have undertaken as a registered retail/hospital pharmacist. Any work experience under 20 hours per week or less than two weeks full time will not be calculated. 

Documentation

You will need to email clear 600dpi colour scans of the following documents:

  • Recent passport sized photograph
  • Identification document. eg. Passport 
  • Evidence of original registration
  • Evidence of current registration from each country in the last 10 years 
  • An up to date Resume or CV containing each period of your employment as a pharmacist in the last 10 years
  • Evidence of your work experience as a pharmacist in the last 10 years for each position detailed on your CV. References must be provided on the APC Work Experience Reference template
  • An original Certificate of Good Standing issued from each jurisdiction in which you have been registered in the last 10 years.  This certificate should be sent directly to APC from the licensing body, or be provided in a sealed envelope (For Stream B candidates) 

If you want an additional qualification included in an updated skills assessment letter:

Documentation

You will need to email clear 600dpi colour scans of the following documents:

  • Recent passport sized photograph
  • Identification document. eg. Passport
  • Your testamur
  • Official academic transcript
  • The title and abstract of your thesis including the contact details of your supervisors (for PHD candidates only)  

If any documents are not in English, they must be accompanied by original translation in English by an approved NAATI translator.

If you have changed your name, evidence of change of name (eg. marriage certificate) must also be provided.

Email a scan of your application for updated skills assessment form, payment of fees credit card form and other supporting documentation to the Assessments Team: assessments@pharmacycouncil.org.au
