All registered pharmacists in Australia do continuing professional development (CPD).

Doing CPD activities helps a pharmacist to:

  • maintain and improve their knowledge, skills and competence
  • achieve annual registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (PharmBA)

We accredit the organisations that accredit CPD activities for pharmacists.

CPD accrediting organisations then accredit those CPD activities. They use the APC Accreditation Standards for Continuing Professional Development Activities

Upcoming cessation and retirement

The APC have announced the upcoming cessation of the accreditation of CPD activities and the retirement of the Accreditation Standards for Continuing Professional Development Activities (2013).

For participants who have enrolled in an accredited CPD activity, this activity will remain accredited until the accreditation expiry date. For further information about expiry dates for individual activities, we recommend that individuals contact the education provider delivering the activity. For more information see FAQs.
