APC welcomes Pharmacists' Support Service Membership

The Pharmacists' Support Service (PSS) have accepted their invitation to be an Organisational Member of the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC). This valued addition expands APC's Organisational Membership to 10 key pharmacy organisations.

The APC Board Chair, Assoc. Prof Sue Kirsa welcomed PSS as an Organisational Member.

''We are delighted to form this partnership with an organisation whose mission, like APC's, is to protect and support. The work of the PSS complements APC's role and we value the opportunity to work closer with them as an official member".

The PSS President, John Coppock says they are very pleased to become an organisation member of APC.

"PSS sees this as a valuable alliance which will enable us to have input into discussions which are important to the future of the pharmacy profession. Education underpins the long term wellbeing of members of the pharmacy profession.

"Emphasis on the importance of self-care and maintenance of good health must begin at the undergraduate level in pharmacy and continue throughout a pharmacist's career. PSS is keen to contribute to the work of APC in order to enhance the wellbeing of all members of the profession," said Mr Coppock.

APC invites organisations and individuals to become members in order to:

• support the work of the APC
• have a seat at the APC Annual General Meeting (AGM)
• vote on decisions at the AGM
• ensure APC works in the best interest of public safety.
