The Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) is now accepting accreditation applications for Medication Management Review (MMR) and Aged Care On-site pharmacist education program.

From 1 September 2023, education providers can apply to have their programs accredited against APC's standards.

APC Chief Executive Officer Bronwyn Clark says accreditation is a critical enabler for enhancing safety and quality of health care and expanding scope.

"APC is committed to supporting the growth and expansion of pharmacist roles, and accreditation of these programs to deliver MMR and aged care on-site pharmacist services will assist in quality outcomes for our community. As the trusted body to assure quality in pharmacy education, we're thrilled to expand our accreditation work into this area," says Ms Clark.

"We look forward to receiving applications from education providers who will then be able to credential pharmacists for these roles."
