Thanks to all those who applied. We will reach out to you soon.

The Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) invites expressions of interest to join a Reference Group for the development of the Pharmacist Capability Framework.

The Pharmacy Board of Australia (the Board) has engaged APC to develop a Pharmacist Capability Framework, on their behalf, to be used for accreditation and general registration purposes.

The Board's Pharmacist Capability Framework will describe the capabilities of a newly registered pharmacist who is adaptable to future practice change.

The Reference Group will be responsible for:

  • providing expert commentary on the development of the framework
  • assisting APC to incorporate stakeholder feedback
  • providing feedback on documents.

The Reference Group is scheduled to meet four times during the project, which is expected to be completed by December 2025. Three of the meetings will be held online, with a fourth meeting to be held face to face at a location TBA.

Membership selection

Individual members will be appointed based on their experience in:

  • the development of professional frameworks, such as capability, competency, assessment, performance outcomes, or standards
  • the design and delivery of pharmacy workforce strategies
  • clinical governance and risk management
  • no conflicts of interest
  • time availability to contribute to the project.
