The Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) has opened early bird registrations for the 2024 Interprofessional (IPE) Colloquium.

This year's theme, announced in October 2023, focuses on amplifying Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices to transform health profession education and practice.

The program will cover topics such as co-design, Indigenising curriculum, cultural safety, and how professions can work together to achieve this.

"We’ve been listening to our First Nations colleagues, and we saw the need to carry our conversations further, which led to our theme. It is about raising their voices to emphasise the importance of decolonising our education programs. What could be more important than that?

"This is not a pharmacy-only event. We have been overwhelmed with the response from speakers from right across the health professions who have agreed to share their knowledges with us for this day, and I am hopeful about how this can lead to positive change for First Nations peoples' health in this country," said APC CEO Bronwyn Clark

The APC announced the event facilitators and first round of speakers last week.

"We are honoured to have experts from across the health professions join us this May to share how they are leading change in health education and practice.

"Join us in this transformative journey to learn from and with colleagues across health professions working towards culturally safe practice and learning," Ms Clark said.
