You may be able to access a free skills assessment if you want to work as a registered pharmacist in Australia.
As part of becoming a registered pharmacist in Australia, you must have your skills assessed by APC and receive a skills assessment letter from us. This involves completing an eligibility check application and passing an exam to assess knowledge and competency.

To apply for a skills assessment, begin by starting an eligibility check application in our Candidate Portal. Depending on where you received your qualification, you will also need to sit and pass one of our exams.

We will process your skills assessment letter within 15 business days from the date we release your exam results. We release results typically 4 weeks after you sit the exam.

The Government is introducing 3 Migrant Skills Incentives that will deliver faster, cheaper skills assessments and improve the employability of migrants who are in Australia and ready to work. This will enable onshore migrants who have unrecognised or under‑recognised skills to join the workforce and contribute to Australia’s economic recovery.
The Australian Government is offering Incentive 2 - Skills Assessment Opportunities for Migrants to migrants who are residing in Australia and are on a permanent family, partner, refugee or humanitarian visa. The incentive offers a free skills assessment for migrants with unrecognised skills in priority occupations.
Applicants who successfully complete their eligibility check and pass their exams can use the letter to register as a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.

You must complete both your eligibility check application and your exam before 16 June 2023.
No, the Skills Assessment Opportunities for Migrants incentive does not apply to you if you have previously submitted a skills assessment application with APC.
If you have since obtained the suitable requirements, you can submit another skills assessment application if you wish, however it will be subject to our regular assessment process, timeframes, and fees.
