The Australian Government is supporting stronger economic growth through policies that increase workforce participation and address critical skills shortages.

As part of the Government’s Skills Assessment Migration Incentive - Pilot 2, we are offering a free skills assessment opportunity for migrants. The Government will end this pilot on Thursday 29 February 2024.

Eligibility

To qualify for your Eligibility Check fees to be waived you must meet the following:

  • You have not previously applied for a skills assessment with APC
  • You are residing in Australia at the time you submit your application
  • You currently hold an eligible visa - click here to see the types of eligible visas
  • You have had your visa granted on or after 1 January 2016.

You can still apply for a free Eligibility Check up until this date.

After this date the Government will end this pilot.

Evidence of eligibility

Before you start your Eligibility Check, you will need to email the following documents to our Candidate Relationship Team:

  • a copy of your visa
  • a copy of your passport used to grant your visa
  • an Australian government issued identification document that shows your address in Australia.

We will review these documents and provide further advice to you on your potential eligibility.

You are also still required to provide all of the necessary assessment documentation at the time of submitting your application. For example, your academic transcript, degree certificate, and evidence of registration.

If you do not meet the Skills Assessment Pilot requirements, you will be required to pay the full eligibility check fee.
