The annual IPE Colloquium™ event, hosted by the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC), returns this week with a record-breaking in-person turnout expected - over 175 attendees from academia, policymaking, and professional practice.

Under the theme "Breaking boundaries: Education as an enabler of trust in healthcare" this year's event will showcase leading research and best practice regarding the role of trust in interprofessional education (IPE), expanded scopes of practice, misinformation, and planetary health challenges.

APC Chief Executive Officer Bronwyn Clark says the increased interest in this year's event demonstrates how vital it is to prepare students for these challenges.

“Trust is fundamental to delivering person-centred care - and it starts with how we educate our future health professionals. I’m thrilled to have such a wonderful range of speakers at our IPE Colloquium event who are willing to share their research, their work, and their experiences.

"With Professor Tina Brock, University of Melbourne, facilitating the program, we know we’re in for particularly meaningful and engaging discussions," expressed Ms Clark.

APC is delighted to have secured two international contributors to this event: Dr Hayley Blackburn, University of Montana, USA discussing planetary health, and Professor Zubin Austin, University of Toronto, Canada (joining virtually). Keynote speaker Professor Julie Leask AO, University of Sydney, will reflect on how the COVID-19 pandemic has reshaped trust in healthcare.

Speakers and delegates represent a diverse range of disciplines, including pharmacy, medicine, nursing and midwifery, speech pathology, social science, and public health.

Registrations are still open at www.ipecolloquium.com.
