These standards were temporarily modified in April 2020 to help our community during the pandemic. For further details, read our statement on the modified standards to support pharmacy vaccinations during COVID-19.

These standards aim to assure quality in developing and delivering immunisation training programs for eligible pharmacists and pharmacy students.

They describe what training providers must do to maintain their accreditation.

We have aligned them to the National Immunisation Education Framework for Health Professionals.

Changes in this version

We have amended the eligibility criteria in this version of the standards. It now includes pharmacy students enrolled in an APC accredited degree program. This means pharmacy students can take part in a training program for vaccinations:

  • within the degree program curriculum, OR
  • with an accredited external provider
