The Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) is delighted to announce that Associate Professor Sue Kirsa, former APC Chair, will deliver the 2025 Emeritus Professor Lloyd Sansom AO Distinguished Lecture.

This prestigious annual lecture honours Emeritus Professor Lloyd Sansom AO, whose profound influence on pharmacy education and policy in Australia has spanned more than four decades.

The 2025 lecture will be held on Monday 24 November at the National Museum of Australia, Canberra.

A/Prof Kirsa is currently the Director of Pharmacy at Monash Health having previously served for over ten years as Director of Pharmacy at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. A highly regarded leader and advocate, she has contributed to numerous professional, industry and government committees, including leading roles with the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia. Her key areas of focus include oncology, the quality use of medicines, patient safety, and antimicrobial stewardship.

The topic of A/Prof Kirsa’s lecture will be announced shortly.

The evening will also include the presentation of the Dr Erica Sainsbury Award recipients, celebrating excellence in pharmacy education and leadership. Applications and nominations open 1 July and close 29 August 2025.
