The Australian Pharmacy Council (APC), in partnership with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (the Board), are pleased to share that the Preliminary consultation phase of the Pharmacist Capability Framework (the Framework) project has concluded.

The draft Pharmacist Capability Framework and accompanying consultation papers are now available for consultation. The Pharmacist Capability Framework describes the entry-to-practice capabilities of a newly registered pharmacists and underpins the future education of pharmacists, ensuring they can adapt to a changing environment.

Throughout November and December, APC will host the next phase of the project with public consultation on the draft Framework.

Forums
APC are holding three face-to-face and one virtual forum in November which will be attended by health professionals, consumers, and stakeholders, and APC look forward to presenting the draft Framework and gathering feedback from attendees. Applications to attend the forums have now closed.

Written feedback
APC also invite written feedback submissions through the online submission link. The online submission will be open from Monday November 3 until Monday 15 December 2025.
