The Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) congratulates Associate Professor Ramesh Walpola on his election as President of the Council of Pharmacy Schools Australia and New Zealand (CPS).

A/Prof Walpola is a highly respected pharmacy educator, researcher and leader, currently Pharmacy Academic Lead at the School of Health Sciences at University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney. He has been a contributor to the work of APC as an Accreditation Assessor, assisting APC with the assessment of pharmacy programs.

"Ramesh is a collaborative and passionate pharmacy educator and leader, and we look forward to working closely with him in this new role" APC CEO Bronwyn Clark said.

We also acknowledge and sincerely thank Professor Joseph Tucci for his leadership and service during his term as CPS President. His commitment to advancing pharmacy education has been valued across the profession. Professor Tucci also led the Australian Pharmacy Leadership Forum (APLF) during his time as CPS President, including co-hosting the APLF Workforce Roundtable with APC.

APC highly values the longstanding partnership between APC with CPS, including the LIPPE network. APC welcomes the opportunity to continued collaboration with CPS under Ramesh’s leadership to support high-quality, contemporary and future‑focused pharmacy education.
