The Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) congratulates Mia Avram on her appointment as President of the National Australian Pharmacy Students' Association (NAPSA) and thanks outgoing President Sebastian Harper for his outstanding leadership and collaboration over the past two years.

APC Deputy CEO, Brett Streatfeild and Director Assessment, Lynn Cheong were pleased to attend the NAPSA Annual Dinner in Canberra on Saturday night to observe the leadership handover.

'During Sebastian's presidency, APC and NAPSA strengthened an already positive partnership through a range of important initiatives. This included the signing and implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between our organisations, which formalised our shared commitment to supporting pharmacy students and the future pharmacy workforce,' stated Mr Streatfeild.

'We also worked closely together to support Indigenous pharmacy students through initiatives including the Deadly Future Pharmacists event and broader efforts to improve student engagement and representation.

'Sebastian's collaborative approach and commitment to advancing the student voice have helped build a strong foundation for future partnership, and we thank him for his leadership and dedication.

'We are equally delighted to welcome Mia Avram to the role of President. Her appointment represents a continuation of the excellent work undertaken by NAPSA in recent years and provides valuable continuity for the organisation as it continues to advocate for pharmacy students across Australia.

'APC looks forward to further strengthening our partnership under Mia's leadership. We are delighted to continue collaborating with Mia and the new NAPSA team as we work together to empower pharmacy students and strengthen professional pathways,' Mr Streatfeild concluded.
