Claire Bekema – Director Accreditation

Claire is a registered pharmacist with diverse experience working in the hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy & health care sectors.
Claire has a background in clinical education, standards development, accreditation, policy and regulation, clinical governance, quality improvement and project management.
She has previously worked for APC as Director Accreditation from 2015-2017 before taking on opportunities which include:
- Consultant leading the development of SHPA Standard of Practice for Pharmacy Technicians to support Clinical Pharmacy Services
- Integration of a clinical governance framework into the Quality Care Pharmacy Program – the quality accreditation program for community pharmacies in Australia
- Workforce policy and regulation, including pharmacist scope of practice at the Pharmacy Guild of Australia
- ACSQHC Primary Care Committee
Claire has returned to APC in 2022 to lead our work in reviewing and developing accreditation standards for existing and emerging pharmacy education programs.
Claire continues to work regularly in pharmacy in the ACT to maintain her connection with her community.
