The World Health Organization's International Health Regulations Emergency Committee has now declared the outbreak of COVID 19 a Public Health Emergency of International concern and health authorities in several countries have identified cases of coronavirus infection.

Candidates sitting APC examinations MUST comply with basic protective measures against coronavirus issued by government requirements in the country wherever they sit for an APC examination. If information from the local country is not publicly available, candidates should refer to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) website.

In the event that a testing centre is closed, candidates will be notified via email and additional information will follow.

If you are unable to attend an APC examination due to the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID 19) outbreak, you may also contact our exams team on exams@pharmacycouncil.org.au.

People at risk of contracting the virus are people who have:

  • Been in mainland China recently
  • Been in close contact with someone who is also a confirmed case of coronavirus

We recognise that our examinations involve bringing people from all over the world together which increases the risk of exposure to Coronavirus (COVID 19). We are responding to this risk and we will continue to be guided by information from the World Health Organization and the Australian Government’s Department of Health.

Please refer to the APC Response to Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) Outbreak statement for detailed information.
