Contribute to our consultation on the Accreditation Standards for Pharmacy Programs - used for Degree and Intern Training Programs in Australia.
Every 5 years we review these accreditation standards. We do this to ensure they stay relevant in contemporary healthcare. We use these standards to assess programs in Australia and internationally.
We hold public consultations and workshops with a wide range of stakeholders. The feedback we receive influences the decisions we make.
The revised standards will reflect contemporary practice and healthcare delivery as well as relevant emerging practice and technologies. The standards will be designed to be sustainable and adaptable.
The revised standards replace the 2020 Accreditation Standards for Pharmacy Programs.
We hold public consultations with a wide range of stakeholders. The feedback we receive influences the decisions we make.
We are now open for public consultation until the 23 March 2026.
The consultation approach aligns with Ahpra's Principals to strengthen the involvement of consumers in accreditation and Ahpra's Consultation process of National Boards 2023 and as follows:

As a part of our commitment to this approach, APC will provide opportunity for stakeholders, the public and the profession to provide input into the revision of the Standards.
October 2025 - December 2025
Preliminary consultation with key stakeholders with experience and expertise in a broad range of areas related to the work being delivered under his project has taken place. This was undertaken between October 2025 - December 2025.

To support the revised standards an extensive literature review was undertaken:
A project Governance Group has been established to oversee the revision of the standards and will ensure that the process exhibits transparency, consistency, responsiveness, equity, inclusiveness, accountability and effectiveness.
